Mobile Chaplain & Pastoral Care Provider Credential Readiness

This programme prepares, verifies, tracks and maintains legitimate credentials for people who serve in pastoral care. It does not create, issue or imply a Florida state chaplain licence.

Florida does not license chaplains, and nothing here says otherwise. Titles shown publicly reflect only the credentials and scope GIFT has actually verified. A Notary commission is a government credential, not a vulnerable-population background clearance. GIFT makes no HIPAA-compliance, licensure, bonding, insurance or clearance claim for any person unless that specific credential has been verified and is shown on the registry.

A record finding never ends the process automatically. Stage 5 is an individualised review carried out by people: an arrest is not a conviction, dispositions are verified, the applicant may explain and correct inaccurate information, and relevance to the role is weighed before any suitability decision.

Licence, bond and insurance — plainly stated

Licence / commission / certification: Authority or standing actually issued by the relevant body — for example a Florida Notary commission issued by the State. Ordination is a ministry credential; it is not a state licence.
Surety bond: A bond protects the public or the obligee according to the terms of the bond. It is not personal liability insurance and it does not protect the bonded person.
Insurance: Coverage is whatever the actual policy says it is. GIFT records what the policy documents show and nothing more.
Background screening: Screening establishes verified information. A Notary commission is not a vulnerable-population background clearance, and a clearance is not a licence.

Submit the notary application through an authorised channel
Obtain the required surety bond
Receive commission and record commission start and expiration dates
Consider errors & omissions (E&O) insurance — recommended, not a state requirement

Pastoral Visit

Spiritual care visit. Not counselling, diagnosis or treatment.

Grief Support

Spiritual companionship in loss. Clinical grief therapy is referred out.

Baby Dedication

Ministry ordinance.

House Blessing

Ministry ordinance.

Wedding / Funeral Officiation

Only where the officiant is legally permitted to serve in that capacity.

Palliative / Wellness Visit

Spiritual support alongside — never in place of — the care team.
